Father’s Day, whilst fantastic for recognising and thanking all Dad’s, can be super tricky when it comes to finding gifts or experiences that make Dad feel special. Who wants to give Dad boring socks or underwear? But, what do you give the man who already has everything? We have pulled together our best coastal inspired ideas, in the hope that these options will take the stress out of your Father’s Day planning.
Get Dad on a board. For the outdoor Dad who loves the water, but has never learnt to surf, a few lessons could be just the thing to gift your Dad. This gift can be great for Dad to take time out from the family, or one of the family might go along for the ride and make a day of it. Not only does surfing promote health and fitness, but there is a real bonding experience in learning how to stand up on a board.
Surfing a bit too intense? A still water option would be getting your hands on a paddleboard (or lesson), and hitting some calmer waters. Whatever your preference, getting out on the water is a Father’s Day outing Dad won’t soon forget, especially if he nails it!

Help Dad relax. For the stressed or overworked Dad, maybe think about creating a space in your home where Dad can escape for some quiet time. A hammock is a great option if you have the space in your home (My husband loves to retreat to our hammock with a book or an iPad). Or, create a great cozy nook in a corner with coastal cable throws and relaxing beach scented candles. Even Dad’s sometimes need some pampering and TLC, and there is nothing like retreating to a cozy space for some alone time.

Throw a Shrimp on the BBQ. A great option for the foodie Dad is a Seafood cooking class (well any cooking class, but this is a coastal website 🐟🍤🍣). I’ve actually bought this for my own Dad through Sydney Seafood School where he made chilli crab and loved it. This is also great for the fisherman who wants to really get the most out of his hard earned catch of the day. There are some great classes nationwide, and we have included a few at the bottom of the page.

Classic cocktails with a nautical twist. Once Dad has mastered his seafood cookery, he will need a relaxing drink to accompany his fine cuisine. Why not get him some nautically inspired barware, or even a retro drinks cart to really make him feel special? There are some gorgeous Hampton’s style accessories on offer and who doesn’t love some holiday style to remind you of that last beach holiday. Shop our range here.

So whichever option you go with we hope you have a fantastic Father’s Day with the Dad in your life. For more ideas check out our store here.
